Connected explores the invisible threads that bind us — to one another, to the natural world, and to something beyond ourselves.

A partially obscured figure emerges through layers of rich texture, weathered gold, deep blue and earthy tones. Circular forms and repeated marks move across the surface like points of connection, while areas are concealed and revealed beneath layers of paint and material.

The work grew from my fascination with the idea that none of us exists entirely in isolation. Our experiences, relationships and surroundings leave traces upon us, shaping who we are even when those connections cannot be seen.

There is a sense of looking both inward and outward in Connected — of the individual existing as part of something much larger.

A reflection on belonging, connection and the unseen ways in which our lives intertwine.
