BELTANE FIRES
Acrylics & Mixed Media on Canvas
£250
Inspired by Beltane, the ancient festival marking the beginning of summer, Beltane Fires draws on the energy, warmth and vitality associated with this turning point in the year.
Layers of burnt orange, rust, deep earth tones and flashes of gold run through the surface like firelight against darkened wood. Heavy texture gives the painting an almost weathered, elemental quality — somewhere between scorched bark, glowing embers and the marks left behind by flame.
Beltane has long been associated with fire, fertility, growth and renewal. For me, this piece holds that same sense of life returning — wild, imperfect and full of energy.
Beltane Fires is a celebration of transformation: the old giving way to new growth, darkness giving way to warmth, and the landscape coming alive again.
